Who You’ll Help
Seattle Children’s Hospital Patients: Imagine being a kid stuck in the hospital over the holidays – missing home, missing traditions, and maybe feeling scared. Our campaign is partnering with Seattle Children’s to deliver new, wrapped toys and gifts to kids in the hospital so they can experience the joy of the season right from their hospital beds. From infants in the NICU to teens in oncology, we want to bring each patient a smile. Hospital staff have seen how gifts lift spirits: last year, when every inpatient received a surprise gift, it brought “lots of holiday cheer” to the halls. Parents and caregivers also feel relief and gratitude seeing their sick child light up with excitement.
Local Kids (Boys and Girls Clubs) and Families in Need: We’re also extending holiday cheer to children in the community who might otherwise go without. These include families facing homelessness, job loss or other challenges (identified through our Spark WA community partners and programs). Your donations will help provide toys, winter essentials, and even grocery gift cards to make sure these families can celebrate the season. Many parents in tough situations wish they could give their kids a normal happy holiday – and with Spark Holiday Joy, we can be the helping hand that makes that possible. Remember, “in times like these, when so many families are facing unimaginable hardships, you have the power to bring light and warmth to a child’s holiday.”
Why It Matters
The holiday memories we create for these children can have a lasting impact. For a child undergoing treatments, a fun toy or game is more than play, it’s a distraction from pain and a boost to their emotional well-being. For a child in a family that’s struggling, a gifted present or a cozy blanket can restore a sense of normalcy and joy, while easing the burden on their parents. These gestures of love and generosity send a powerful message: you are cherished. That hope can carry them well beyond December.
